Mr. Dan Biermann

Training Director

We are excited to introduce retired Lieutenant Dan Biermann, a long-time , highly recruit police rated instructor as our Training Director.

Lieutenant Biermann was born and raised in the City of Florissant and is a graduate of the McCleur North High School. He obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Administration of Justice from the University of Missouri – St. Louis. He also earned his Masters of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Louisville.

Lieutenant Biermann began his law enforcement career in 1988 at the Florissant Police Department as a police officer. In 1994, he was assigned to the department’s Detective Bureau where during his tenure as a Detective was member of the Greater St. Louis Major Case Squad as an Investigator, then Report Writer, and ultimately Deputy Commander. In the Detective Bureau, he worked crimes against persons, burglaries, and all other investigative assignments.

He was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in 2007 and was assigned to the Bureau of Field Operations. In 2008 he was assigned as a supervisor in the Bureau of Investigations, being promoted to the rank of Lieutenant 2013 and a watch commander for the Bureau of Field Operations. In 2015 he was assigned as the Commander of the Bureau of Investigations where he was in charge of 14 detectives, 6 corrections officers, and 2 detective sergeants.

Lieutenant Biermann went on to graduate from the Southern Police Institute’s Executive Leadership/Administrative Officers Course.

Lieutenant Biermann has consistently taught Constitutional Law, Statutory Law, and Report Writing to our police recruits. He has also been an instructor for our First Line Supervision course, along with the Police Leadership and Command Preparatory Academy. Lieutenant Biermann is also a prior instructor for the St. Louis County Police Academy. He is also a current adjunct Professor for Maryville University’s Criminal Justice program.
