Officer Jason Taylor enlisted into the Unites States Air Force in 1997. After graduating Basic Training and Security Police training with honors, he was stationed at Malmstrom Air Force Base located in Great Falls, Montana. There, he conducted classified Nuclear Security Operations as Security Forces (Police) controller/trainer. While conducting Nuclear Security duties, Officer Taylor was awarded as an Outstanding Performer for being the youngest/lowest ranked Flight Security Controller in the history of the Malmstrom Air Force Base Nuclear program. In 2000, he was awarded Senior Airman (Below the Zone). This award which was granted to the top 1% of the Air Force and allowed him to hold the rank of Senior Airman 6 months earlier than the normal ranking system.
Also in 2000, Officer Taylor was recruited and hand selected by Chief Master Sergeant Kelley for a Special-Operations position at the Air Mobility Warfare Center (AMWC) located at Fort Dix, New Jersey. He accepted this extraordinary offer and moved to New Jersey in 2001 and was awarded the Distinguished Graduate of the Airman Leadership School that same year. Officer Taylor became a Phoenix Raven/Readiness instructor in 2001 and in 2003 became a Master Instructor in over 30 courses while assigned to the Air Mobility Warfare Center. This granted him the opportunity to attend over twenty Military College accredited courses including Anti/Counter Terrorism, Combat/Defensive Tactics, Tactical Communication, and Defensive Operations.
In 2004, he graduated from the Community College of the Air Force with an Associate in Applied Science of Criminal Justice Degree. In 2005 Officer Taylor was awarded the Occupational Instructor Certificate from the Community College of the Air Force and later that same year he also became the Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge (NCOIC) of the AMWC Honor Guard and the Phoenix Readiness Tactics Course.
After Officer Taylor’s enlistment in the USAF, he returned to Missouri and became a personal trainer while he attended the Eastern Missouri Police Academy in 2007. He was selected as Class Commander and was awarded the Leadership Award upon graduation in 2007. Officer Taylor began his law enforcement career with the St. Peters Police Department in December 2007 where he is still employed to date. Over his nine and a half years he has received several awards including the Outstanding Performance Award for conducting, “Violence Prevention in the Workplace” training. He is currently the Investigative Division (ID) Officer assigned to the day shift as well as a Generalist Instructor for the Eastern Missouri Police Academy, and an approved subject matter expert in De-escalation for Missouri’s Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST).
